What made you decide to respond to our open call?
“A good half of my closet is American Apparel. Wearing a certain brand makes you feel a type of way. American Apparel makes me feel unapologetic yet socially conscious.”
What are your professional or artistic goals?
“I would like to convince my favorite psychology professor to co-write a book with me. He does the writing; I litter the pages with continuous line drawings.”
Can you walk us through a typical day in your life?
“It's 6:30AM and the alarm goes off. I drive down a straight road lined with trees, beating rush hour traffic. It's 7:30AM and I'm at my desk, the computer to my left and the patient charts on my right. It's 4:00PM and 70 patients have passed through the clinic; 140 forty eyeballs have been examined. I eat dinner in the car from 4:00-4:15PM and in that time I morph from medical technician to private tutor. I knock on three doors that night. It's 9:00PM, I drive home down a straight road lined with trees, beating rush hour traffic.”
How would you describe your own personal style?
“Firstly comfortable, secondly practical, thirdly bold and sleazy.”
What are your 3 favorite American Apparel items?
“The Cotton Spandex Cross V Bodysuit, The Easy Jean, and the Cotton Spandex Turtleneck Catsuit.”
